The overhead valve (OHV) technology offered on this engine provides more power per volume of displacement than conventionally designed engines. The OHV design also allows the engine to run cooler, minimizes carbon build-up in the compression chamber, extends valve life, reduces oil consumption and improves fuel economy. The V-Twin's design also provides optimal balancing of engine mass for vibration-free performance. Cast-iron cylinder sleeves and hardened crankshaft bearings ensure long life. Maximum protection is also provided by the V-Twin's dual element air cleaning system, a full pressure lubrication system, and a spin-on oil filter that continuously cleans the lubricating oil as the engine is running.
